Experience zenica

Zenica is a city in Bosnia and Herzegovina and an administrative and economic center of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Zenica-Doboj Canton. It is located in the Bosna river valley, about 70 km north of Sarajevo. The city is known for its Ironworks Zenica factory but also as a significant university center.

The urban part of today's city was formed in several phases, including Neolithic, Illyrian, the Roman Municipium of Bistua Nuova (2nd-4th century; old name of the city), with an early Christian dual basilica. Traces of an ancient settlement have been found here as well; villa rustica, thermae, a temple, and other buildings were also present. Earliest findings in the place date from the period 3000-2000 BC; they were found in the localities of Drivuša and Gradišće. Zenica's current name was first mentioned in 1415.

Bilino Polje Stadium

Bilino Polje is the home football stadium of Bosnian Premier League football club NK Čelik from the city of Zenica in Bosnia and Herzegovina and one of two stadiums of the national football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is also sometimes used for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national rugby union team as well.

Vranduk

It is situated on the Bosna River canyon, just downstream from city of Zenica, at the site called the Vranduk Pass. The main road Sarajevo-Zenica-Doboj (M17) passes through the canyon and the village. On 14 February 1971 a rail crash in the tunnel near Vranduk occurred, 34 people were killed and 113 (60 serious) injured.The village itself is one of the oldest and well preserved settlements of Bosnia and Herzegovina, dating back to the 14th century and times of medieval bans and later kings of Bosnia.

City Museum Zenica

This museum offers a wide variety of exhibits related to the history of Zenica and the local area with a strong link to history of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole.The location is easily accessible, suited for larger groups and the temporary exhibitions of local and regional artists rarely leaves room for complaint.
